About God

HAVE you ever asked yourself if God does exist or who He really is?

The following thoughts about God are based on the Bible, but we’ll share them with you as it comes out of our heart.
We know that these words won’t do justice to God and won’t master every aspect of Him. But out of His grace they will encourage you to dig deeper in your relationship with God.

  1. God does exist. Yes, he is a true and living God. The One who created you and me, the earth and the whole universe. Whatever came into existence He created it. And not only He alone as God the Father, but also through His Son Jesus Christ and through His Holy Spirit.
  2. God is One. Our real God is one being. Not many beings or many different Gods. But even if He is one being, he lives out a divine relationship with His Son and the Holy Spirit. The Bible doesn’t say how this looks like in detail, but it is a supernatural truth that God Himself can live out a real living relationship in and with Himself – meaning with His Son and the Spirit – and still be One. The same mystery applies to His followers and His church. We shall be One as He is One.
  3. God is love. Whatever He did and whatever He does, it is out of love and grace. Whether it is caring, nurturing, helping or healing or it is admonishing, challenging or rebuking, all is out of love and for our good. Maybe some difficult circumstances will draw us closer to Him or some beautiful moments let our hearts be deeply glad to thank Him and give Him praise. So whatever it is – it is out of love. Especially His loving heart to let His Son, Jesus Christ, die at the cross for your and our sins.
  4. God is righteous. He will punish or reward every person who has ever lived and will ever live on earth according to his deeds. But the punishment of sin would be death, not only in this lifetime, but forever and ever. This is the place that people often call “hell”, because it will be a very dark and terrible place to be in eternity. But what chance do we have? Well, God gave us a chance. He wants to set us free from our sins: If we really turn away from our sins with all of our heart and turn to God almighty. This is what the Bible calls “repentance”. Let’s start believing in His word and His Son, Jesus Christ, because he died for our sins and failures.
  5. God is almighty. God created the heavens and the earth and the whole universe. During history He always demonstrated His almighty power. He divided the Red Sea, gave birth to a virgin and healed deaf, dumb and blind and whatever-sickness-one-might-have-people. He is out of time and space and knows how the future will end.
  6. God is peace. We are all searching for peace and I can tell you – there is a God who is peace in person! With our Lord and God we will have peace in our hearts, even if our circumstances aren’t very peaceful. We only need to trust Him and get to know Him.
  7. God is worthy. Knowing all these aspects of God you have read before, it must be clearly said that He is worthy every day and every minute and for eternity. Every creature on earth has the purpose to glorify our loving God; then we will have the real life we were born for – a real relationship with God the father, His Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

Believing in God will set you free, to live life what it is meant to be. 🙂
